MAME4ALL GP2X/WIZ (13/06/2009) |
|
|
13-06-2009: MAME4ALL GP2X/WIZ 2.2: Changes by Franxis: - New timers system based on integers instead of floats. This gives more performance (10% to 25% depending on the game)!. I have been working on it for months and finally it works. Please report any posible bug. - Removed M72 sound hack, it is not needed now, M72 games run full-speed with the new timers system. - Optimizations in the sound cores (mixing and clipping). - Neo·Geo drivers are not compiled in the main executable, they are only compiled in the 'neomame' executable. - Some other tweaks to decrease the size of the executables. - Fixed the icon to be correctly shown in GP2X and WIZ latest firmwares. - WIZ: Added option to use 11 KHz and 15 KHz sound. The WIZ Linux port doesn't support such frequencies yet. They are really converted to 22 KHz during sound playback. Anyway more performance is gained. Changes by Slaanesh: - Added new romsets from MAME 0.37b16: Knuckle Joe (set 1) (kncljoe) Knuckle Joe (set 2) (kncljoea) - Updated Taito F2 driver. Sprite scaling for Dead Connection and others. - Improved sound in Rygar. Still not perfect. - Updated Blockout driver. Still crashes at bonus round. A GP32 port has been done by Slaanesh. More information in his web page. |

30-11-2007: New MAME GP2X 5.1: Slaanesh: - Added Knuckle Joe (kncljoe) (from MAME 0.37b12). - Updated Warp Warp. Now playable with full sound. - Bug fix to Sega Ninja (and clones) in Sega System 8 driver. Background was not correct. - Added improved MSM5205 ADPCM sound system. This is currently separated to the old MSM5205 core. Only Knuckle Joe uses this but there is potential to update many other games to the improved MSM5205 (e.g. Rygar). - Added FRAC definitions (useful for adding MAME 0.36+ drivers). Franxis: - Due to the fact the GP2X TV-Out PAL runs at 50 Hz, the video rate is now limited to 50 Hz when using the TV-Out PAL mode, to improve the video output and to avoid slowdowns using the VSync option. - Anyway my recommendation to play with TV-Out is: NTSC mode, high overclocking, VSync+DblBuff and frameskip=0. |

29-09-2005: New MAME GP32 1.9: - Added DrZ80 Z80 ASM ARM core v0.001. Thanks to Reesy for letting me to release this preview version of his core, and also thanks a lot for the help during the integration and also for adding specific code needed by MAME. - Updated Cyclone M68000 ASM ARM core v0.0082. Thanks to Dave, Reesy and Notaz. - New centering screen code by new colaborator Pepe_Faruk. IMPORTANT NOTES: - Compatibility of DrZ80 core is still limited. I recommend to use this core only for games running slowly with old C core. - Black Tiger with DrZ80: To play Black Tiger, use bootleg version of the game. - 1943 with DrZ80: To play 1943, use japanese version of the game instead of US version. The port is being continued by Slaanesh. New versions are available in his web page. |

MULTIPAC GP32 (27/11/2004) |

It is a port of Multipac (the preceder to MAME) for the GP32 console. It emulates arcades with Pac Man hardware: Pac Man, Ms Pac Man, Crush Roller, Piranha and all clones or hacks of previous games. It runs at 100% speed with sound. It was done as a contribution to ADIC 2004 Compo (December, 2004). Finally it was classified #11 :-(. Review by DaveC |
